DIY Splatter Painted Pants

Everything outside is grey, grey, grey.  Bah.  I've been longing for some color in my life.  So that's why I took a pair of pants and went crazy.  Yurrrp.  I splatter painted the whole thing bright happy colors.

DIY splatter painted pants

They look pretty crazy... and pretty cool.  (They were also inspired by by this awesome splatter pant tutorial from PS-I Made This.) So far I've worn these pants around the apartment but I have yet to wear them outside.  (What's the correction occasion for such colorful pants?  Hrmm...)Now if you'd like some color in your life too, keep reading!

Materials:
  • Jeans
  • Craft Paint
  • Fabric Medium
  • Paint Brushes
  • Cereal boxes
  • Scrap paper

Directions:

1.  Cover your work area.
2.  Place scrap paper cereal boxes inside of your pants.  (The paint didn't really go through, but I just felt better knowing that the cardboard was there just in case.)
3.  Mix up your fabric paint!  ( I mixed up craft paint with fabric medium.)
4.  Then, go crazy and paint!  (I painted darker colors first and then moved onto lighter colors)

Let your pants dry overnight.  Then, voila!  Splatter Paint Pants!  They're pretty stiff at first, but they should soften up in the wash.

Hope they add a bit of color and fun to your life.  Happy crafting!
(PS- If you see an Asian gal walking around with a colorful pair of pants and a toddler, say hi!  It's probably me.)
