DIY Valentine's Day Gift: Hair Tie Lollipop

With Valentine's Day right around the corner,  I thought it would fun to make some easy and cute DIY Valentine's Day Gifts.  Here's one idea that I whipped up last night.  It's a hair tie lollipop!

Isn't it colorful and cute?  I bet it would be perfect for any little (or big) gal in your life.  Keep reading to see how I made it!

Materials:
  • Corrugated Cardboard
  • White Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Popsicle Stick
  • Pen
  • Cup (to trace- Choose one with a diameter that's longer than your hair tie.  The hair tie will stay on only if it has to stretch to fit over the circles.)
  • Mod Podge
  • Sponge Brush
  • Hair Ties
  • Hot Glue
  • Plastic wrap
  • Ribbon
  • Piece of paper
  • Hole puncher

Directions:
 1.  Trace your cup two times onto your corrugated cardboard.  Cut out your two identical circles.  Then, paint one side of the circles white.  Then, cover the paint with a layer of Mod Podge to protect the paint from flaking off onto your hair ties.  (I used a Sparkle Mod Podge... oooh, girly!)

2.  Hot glue the popsicle stick onto the back of one of your circles.  Then, glue another circle on top.  Now your popsicle stick will be sandwiched between the two circles.

3.  Start stretching your colorful hair ties over your lollipop!

4.  Now wrap your saran wrap over your hair tie lollipop.  Tie it up with a ribbon and a cute saying.

Ahh, the perfect sweet for your sweet. (Tee hee hee)

Happy crafting!
