Origami Bears and Conversation Hearts

Origami bears? Origami conversation hearts? Honestly, I wasn't sure what to call today's Valentine's craft.  But I had to share this adorable origami project because it's such an easy and cute one that's perfect for elementary-aged kids!

How to Fold Origami Bears and Conversation Hearts

Step 1: Take a normal sheet of letter-size paper.  Fold one corner down like so...

Step 2:  Unfold your fold. Then, fold down the other side like so.

Step 3: Unfold your fold and you should see creases like this...

Step 4: Press your hands along the two horizontal triangles like so...

And you can make your paper fold like this...

Step 5:  Fold up both corners of your top triangle so that they meet in the middle.

Step 6: Then fold one side toward the middle...

And the other side toward the middle...

Step 7:  Flip your paper over.

Step 8:  Fold down the top corner.

Step 9:  Fold up the bottom bit.

Step 10:  Pull out the triangle that you made when folding step 8...

and move it on top.

Step 11:  Fold up both bottom corners.

Step 12:  Slip the corners into the openings in your triangle.

Step 13: Fold down your top flaps like so...

and then fold their corners underneath the triangle.

Step 13:  Flip your heart over and you're done!

Grab your sharpie markers and decorate!
