Babies
Two weekends ago we attended a niece's birthday party. I was too busy enjoying the party to get any photos, but luckily hubby snapped a couple of shots of Chuck and his super cute baby cousin.

Good-bye
Today our family of six returned back to a group of three. Now the apartment feels a bit too large and quiet.
We miss everyone already. Now who's going to sing "Dingle Dangle scarecrow" with Chuck?

Two days in New York
This past week I got a chance to tour Manhattan for two whole days. (!!!!) Hubby took me around town to celebrate my birthday (yay!) and then I showed our aunt around town another day. It was such a nice treat to wear my "nice" clothes (aka non-mommy-stained-t-shirts) and see the city I love.
Here are some photos from my New York adventures:

No idea where I shot these flowers, but I love them because they remind me of an old painting |

Washington, DC
Last week, our overseas relatives flew across the world to see us (well, mostly Chuck). Last weekend, our family traveled to Washington, DC. Unfortunately, I forgot to charge my camera, so I wasn't able to take too many shots. Here are some photos from our first day in our nation's capital.

Chinese New Year
Happy Valentine's Day!
I know, Chinese New Year was last week and today is Valentine's Day. But, I just wanted to post these photos because hubby, Chuck, and I celebrated the New Year with family members that we love very much. (And isn't love what today is all about?).
Hope you have a wonderful day enjoying the company of loved ones.
(I didn't have my camera on me, so special thanks to Esther for taking these photos on her i-product.)

Ice skating
Hi everyone!
Did you have a good weekend? We had a nice time last week catching up with an old friend in the city and hanging out with family at the ice-skating rink. Here are some photos from the skating rink. Although Baby Chuck and I didn't skate, we still enjoyed people watching and being with family.

A few Christmas photos
Let me just start this post by saying that I had intentions to take tons and tons of photos during Christmas. But, I didn't touch the camera once.
Surprised? Me too.
I just enjoyed spending time with family.
I was also so happy to see Baby Chuck surrounded by people who loved him. Seeing him laughing and smiling and giving sloppy wet kisses to his relatives? Those were definitely my favorite Christmas memories from this year.
Now for those of you who still want to get a glimpse of our Christmas, hubby luckily snapped some shots of our yummy meal. Here's what he captured:

Wow. What will they think of next?
I'm such a dork. I spent at least half an hour staring into the Christmas lights and rocking my head back and forth just to make the snowmen dance. Ah-maaaa-zing I tell you. Ah-maaaa-zing.
The lights also gave me an idea for a craft that I wanted to try...so stay tuned.
And now I will conclude this post with a quote from my very wise friend Alice-
"May this season be bright and lovely as we celebrate the God who sees fit to greet us as a child and to send angels and songs to us on all our dark nights."
Hope you had a wonderful relaxing, and refreshing holiday break as well.

Oh yeah, here's one more funny memory. Our aunt and uncle also gave us a pair of glasses that would create snowmen shapes out of Christmas lights. You just put on the glasses and stare into the Christmas lights. Then, presto! The lights magically turn into snowmen ligths. Cool, right?

Bronx Zoo
Last weekend we celebrated the birthday of a very sweet 2-year old by going to the Bronx Zoo. It was a lovely cool day with sunny blue skies. Hubby and I tried to take lots of photos of the animals, but honestly some of my favorite photos were the ones that we took of family.
This final photo cracks me up.
By the end both boys were completely zonked from all the fun.

Hungry Caterpillar Party Part 3
Here are the last of my party photos.
(We didn't have an actual photo-booth set up, but the guests were still able to play around with the props. Don't they look so gosh darn cute?)

Hungry Caterpillar Party Part 2
Click here for directions to make your own fruit balloon garland |
Special thanks to brave hubby for holding the pinata while kids swung wildly with their bats. |
I found it hilarious that the kids brought multiple bats to hit the pinata. |
Can I be honest with you?
I initially didn't want to throw Baby Chuck a party. (Does that make me a bad mommy? Hopefully not.) I didn't want a birthday party because I figured Baby Chuck wouldn't really remember anything... so why spend the money or put the effort in? (Ay, I'm so cheap.) But then I changed my mind after talking with some relatives. It only took a bit of convincing and Pinteresting before I was on-board. (Anytime there's a craft to be made, count me in!)
Looking back I'm really glad that we did it. Hubby and I got to celebrate the fact that we kept a baby alive for a whole year. Wowzers. Tita Tina, Ana, and I got a chance to craft. Yes! Baby Chuck will have lovely photos to look at one day. Hooray! And our young guests got a chance to let loose and enjoy themselves. Score!
You know what? Here's my deep thought of the day:
There are so many tough and sad things in this world. Life would be better if we threw more parties and celebrated.
(Thanks Sam for taking these beautiful photos.)
