3 Totoro Crafts

Have you seen the movie Totoro?  We recently checked it out from the library and have already watched it a dozen times!  Totoro is a large, furry forest spirit who helps two sisters adjust to their new home.  My  preschool son loves it because there are no bad guys, the sisters have a really sweet relationship, and Totoro is extremely cute.  So today I'm  sharing 3 Totoro crafts in honor of this great Miyazaki anime!

1.  Make a Totoro Lacing Card

Totoro Lacing Card- Great Kids craft

I doodled Totoro onto a sheet of watercolor paper with Sharpie Marker.  Then, I cut it out.  My son colored Totoro in, punched the holes, and then strung a long piece of yarn through them.  The results are super cute!

2.  Totoro Toilet Roll Crafts

Totoro Toilet Paper Roll Kids Craft

Ok.  We've done dozens of toilet paper roll crafts, so I figured we might as well add a Totoro toilet roll craft to the mix.  :)  I think the picture pretty much says it all!  Just cut out a Totoro shape, paint it with craft paint, and add on details with Sharpie markers and tiny sticker eyes!

3.  Totoro Paper Plate Purse

Totoro Paper Plate Purse- Fun Kids craft for kids who love anime

I think this is my son's favorite one of the three.  He's been carrying it around our home all day!  To make it, I simply did the same thing I did to make my watermelon and doughnut paper plate purses.  Super easy and super cute!

Hopefully you and the kids have fun trying out these Totoro-inspired crafts!  And if you're looking for another cute Miyazaki anime, check out Kiki's Delivery Service.  It's our other current favorite anime!
