Strawberry faced mummy boy

Last week I took Baby Chuck to the allergist to get retested.  Because he's still so small, they were only able to do a portion of the testing.  After they stuck a bunch of needles into his back, we found out that he's allergic to even more food items.  Now we're eliminating wheat, soy, nuts, and fish from our diet.  We're also sticking with nursing because our previous attempt at formula resulted in swollen eyelids and lips.

Despite our radical diet change, Chuck's skin is a lot worse.  He's still red and itchy.  We've even had to bandage his legs to prevent him from tearing at his own skin.  I'm hoping that he's just reacting to the allergy shots and that things will calm down with time.

Hubby keeps reminding me that even though it doesn't feel like it, we're getting closer to understanding (and hopefully fixing) the problem.  We just have to stay strong and be persistent.

If only hugs and kisses could solve all of life's problems...

  1. You guys are doing your best and I'm sure baby chuck is happy that he has two loving parents by his side. I'm glad you guys are discovering what food items he's allergic to. The more you discover the better to appropriately assess the situation and the more you can find out ways to help baby chuck. <3

  2. Poor baby Chuck! I miss you and your hubby! Hoping you're doing well, and figuring out more about Chuck's issue.... :(

Since you've given up wheat, check out Robyn Ryberg's "You Won't Believe It's Gluten-Free!" An excellent resource. I have a couple of her recipes on my blog. Oh, joy, celiac.

    1. Thanks Mary! We're just learning all of this stuff step by step. I'm really hoping he outgrows all of this... so we'll see....

Until then, it's gluten free for us!

  3. After a positive experience at the general practioner, I am pleased to report the results of Baby Chuck's allergy tests. Although they were unable to do the entire test because he is still so small, they did learn that he is allergic to wheat, soy, nuts and fish. Unfortunately, this means we have to eliminate even more food items from our diet and also choose personal statement writer service to have unique task. However, we're sticking with nursing because formula gave him swollen eyelids and lips.
