Star Finding Game

Recently Chuck started getting the concept of hide-and-seek.  I'm so stoked about that and love playing it with him at the park.  But we've had to cut our park time down with the days getting shorter.  Boo!  To help pass the time at home, we've tried doing activities that embrace the dark.  So far we've made our bike wheels glow in the dark and even given ourselves glowing temporary tattoos.  Here's another way that we've entertained ourselves- we've played some Star Hide-And-Seek.

Nighttime Star Finding Game- A fun hide-and-seek game played with stars!

Star Hide-And-Seek is a simple twist on the classic hide-and-seek game.  Instead of finding people, we looked for glowing stars!

To create our glowing stars, I simply used glow in the dark paint to decorate old plastic lids.  (These would also make lovely ornaments too.)

I waited overnight until the stars dried completely.  Then we hid the stars around our home, turned off the lights, and walked around trying to find them..  We used a portable black light to help us out.

It was really fun and magical finding each glowing star.  Hope you have fun trying this activity out too!
