Homemade Body Paint Recipe (2 ingredients Needed!)

Last week I shared a simple 3-ingredient homemade body paint recipe. While we had fun trying it out, I kept wondering if there was another way to make homemade body paint.  Turns out there is!  I peeked around the internet and found this neat series of body paint recipes.  The author shares a couple recipes that involved using washable white paint (which I kind of felt weird using on my skin...)  and one that involved using two ingredients that I already had on hand.

These results were much more vibrant than our previous recipe.  The paint also dried too, leaving a lovely colorful stain on my arm.  Chuck didn't want to get his hands dirty, so I just dove right in and painted my hands and arm.  Here's what the body paint looks like while still a bit wet:

(I dunno what it is about rainbows, but they just scream happy to me.)

If you leave the paint on long enough, it will stain.  So I don't recommend using this on your face (unless you don't mind having a colorful face.)   But not to worry, all the colors came completely off after a nice long shower.

This super easy recipe just involves 2 ingredients:  hand sanitizer and food coloring.  To make each color, I simply combined 1 pump of hand sanitizer with 1 drop of food coloring.  Yup.  That's it.  Then, I just took a small watercolor brush and mixed the two liquids together.

It's not as good as the store bought stuff, but it's loads fun painting onto your skin.  So have fun! And if you liked this recipe, you could always check out my 3-ingredient homemade body paint recipe.
