Snake puppets!

Looking for a fun snake craft?   Yup.  Chuck still digs snakes.  Now, we've made our fair share of snake crafts around here...  (Check out our twisty snake sculpturemoveable cardboard snake, and bubble snakes!)  But today I thought I'd just share a really easy snake puppet that I recently made for him!

Snake Puppets!

So the idea for this puppet started with an empty box of raisins.  I kept looking at it, wondering what I could do with it.  And that's when I came up with this snake craft!  Here's how you make it:

Take a craft knife and cut across the top and sides of a raisin box.  Then, fold it to create your snake's face.

Cut out a pair of eyeballs from a paper plate (or whatever cardboard you have lying around) and tape it inside the box.

Then, take colored paper (I used this kind because the colors are so beautiful and it's really easy to fold) and wrap both sides of your snake's face.

Here's what the top side of the box looked like (with the eyes jutting out.)

And here's what the underside of the box looked like.  (It's the inside of snake's mouth.  So I taped in a tongue and teeth too.)

And then use a marker to add on any extra snake-ish details.
