Twisty Snake Sculpture! (Template Included)

Do snakes and reptiles set your heart aflutter?  A couple of months ago we found a small garden snake sunning in our backyard.  Chuck and I watched it slithering away, mesmerized by how it moved.  In honor of our reptilian visitor,  I'll be sharing 2 easy and fun snake crafts today and tomorrow on the blog.

 Let's Make a Snake Sculpture!

cut out snake shapes

Grab your paper and cut out a twisty snake shape.  You can design your own snake, or you can use my Twisted Snake Template.    (Note:  I cut the snake on the right first, but found that its head and tail should have been longer.  Then, I changed my design and cut out the snake on the left.)

decorate snakes with circle stickers and markers

Once your snakes are cut out, decorate them!  We used markers and easy-to-peel  circle stickers.  (I love circle stickers because they're colorful and modern looking.)

twist the snakes to make easy snake sculptures- kids craft!

Then I twisted the snakes into an 8 shape by sticking the head in the back curve and the tail through the front curve.

tape tongues onto your twisty snake sculptures

Then I taped the head and tail in place.  Once we added cute little tongues we were all set!

This craft was a super easy one that Chuck really enjoyed.  Hooray for snakes and stickers!

Happy making, friends!
