How do I love thee?

Today my hubby and I are going to visit a new thrift store.  I love thrift stores.  I love hunting through items.  I love finding interesting items.  And I especially love seeing how little everything costs.  When I'm at the thrift store, I'm not a shopper...I'm an explorer, an archaeologist, and a treasure hunter. :)  Move over old ladies, there's a new thrift store shopper in town.

So, inspired by my love of thrift stores (and the great poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning), I've written out this poem proclaiming my love.

Oh thrift stores, how do I love thee?  Let me count the ways.
For inside your stores, I have oft stayed.
I love thy rows and rows of clothes,
Browns, Purples, Pinks, and gold.
I love thy jewelery counter, covered by glass
Where pins, earrings, and necklaces are stashed.
I love thy shoes, oft hidden out of sight
Where gingerly I place my left foot and right.
I love thy pottery, dishes, and knickknacks,
Furniture, purses, and other bricka brack.
And lastly, as we are in the season of fall,
I love thy coats, mittens, and scarves most of all.
With all these possibilities, with thrift stores galore
Verily, I am becoming a happy clothes whore.

Treasure map

To my squirrel readers:

Lately I've seen so many of you running around and hiding your nuts.  Will you even remember all your hiding places?  I hope so.  We're expecting a cold winter here in western Michigan, so you're going to need sustenance. Just in case you forget, I've doodled this map to help you out.
Love,
Pink Stripey Socks

PS:  Please don't come by my door asking for nuts.  I won't share my pistachios with you.  Really.  I mean it this time.

Did you ever wonder...

if two random foods would taste good together?  I have. Today I took the plunge and combined two of my favorite foods: eggs and Nutella.  The verdict?  Find out below.

Here are the two main players:

First, I sacrificed broke the eggs.

Then, I scrambled them.

Meanwhile, I heated some oil in a frying pan.

Once the pan was hot enough, I poured the sacrificed eggs in.

After my eggs finished cooking, I slathered on the Nutella.  Oh baby.  I do love me some Nutella.
Doesn't this look gross good?

Final verdict?  Egg + Nutella = Delicious Tasty Pretty good Edible.

What two foods would you want to combine?

Admire the beauty!

My hubby recently showed me a book of different math proofs performed through pictures.  That's right, no words or numbers neededWho knew it could be done?  Here's one that I sat pondering awhile. Then, eureka! I got it.  And now I tell you, dear reader, admire the beauty!

Secret life of cans

I work a lot from my home, so I take quite a few breaks to daydream. Today I found myself wondering about the secret life of cans.  Everyday they just sit in my storage closet, seemingly inanimate...

but come on, I saw Toy Story 1 and 2.  I wasn't born yesterday.  What do they really do when the closet door is closed and no one is looking? I set up a sting operation to find out.  Two hours of stealthy sleuthing revealed these shocking photos of can violence:
I don't even know where they got the can opener from.

What are your cans up to?
