I am a sucker for kids watercolor art and crafts. They're colorful, easy to set up, easy to clean up, and give us such bright and happy results. (Plus, who doesn't love watching colors blend with one another? It's pure magic.) Today I'm pulling out another watercolor craft that will look just beautiful decorating your home this summer. Tada! We're painting some paper lanterns!

10 Super Cute and Fun Clothespin Crafts
What do you think about clothespins? Are they good craft materials or not? I wasn't a big fan of them for a long while because I just couldn't think of what to do with them. But after peeking around online I saw some pretty cute and fun clothespin crafts. If you're like me and you have a ton of wooden clothespins lying around (from when you needed just needed a couple but they only sold packs of like 100 at the store) then hopefully this list of 10 cute and fun clothespin crafts will offer you some creative and crafty inspiration too!

Clothespin People and Doodles
I needed a few clothespins for some crafts... but ended up acquiring a whole bunch more than necessary. They were just lying around, so I fiddled around and came up with a really fun, open-ended art project: Clothespin Doodles!

3D "I Love You" Hand Craft (And our Favorite Books about Love)
It's already February and I haven't yet put up any Valentine's Day Crafts this year. Oof! What kind of kid crafter am I?
I've just been so caught up in what's happening in our country and world that I haven't fully had the heart or energy to embrace doilies, flowers, chocolate, hearts.... basically anything Valentine's yet. But today I'm turning a new leaf. Here's my first Valentine's day craft of the season... these 3D "I Love You" Hands.
(They're not quite hearts and flowers and pun-ny sayings.. but it's a start, right?)

DIY Wooden Block Dolls
We've had a box of wooden blocks gathering dust in our closet for a couple of weeks now. Recently I tried breathing life into them with this fun craft. We made our own Wooden block dolls! Armed with stickers and Sharpies, we transformed plain jane blocks into cute characters. Aren't they adorable? I love how they're full of personality and charm.

Gorgeous, Kid-Made Birthday Banner (And my dream job...)
A few weeks ago, we invited a few school friends over for a play date. Since having a baby less than a year ago, I've been a bit (ok... let's be honest... VERY) nervous about having people over. I'm always pooped and don't really feel like entertaining. (Ever feel that way too?) But, I pushed myself to try and that's how I found myself with 5 kids running around our fairly small home. The kids played with toys and ran around outside... and surprisingly a lot of time was spent inside, painting and making art.
What?
You read that right, friends. Our teacher's birthday was coming up and I invited the children to help me paint her birthday banner. Once the kids saw the papers and art supplies on our table... they got right to work, creating the beautiful birthday letters below.

Easy Pop Up Paper Plate Nativity
What do you get when you combine a Paper plate craft with a Christmas craft? Ok... well, a lot of things come to mind... but today I'm sharing one idea. It's a super easy paper plate Nativity craft. This craft is so quick to set up and make that you can do it with several kids at once. (Ooh. Wouldn't this be neat for Sunday school? Church? A playdate? ) And this craft is so easy that even young preschoolers could make them too.
So let's get started!

Colorful and Glittery Skull Craft
In the midst of what is going on in our country, I almost feel hesitant to keep posting this week. How can I write posts about crafts, Sharpie markers, and glitter when there is so much misunderstanding, hurt, and turmoil going on?
But you know what? This blog is my happy place. And being creative and making things with my son makes me happy. So I'm going to keep making and posting... even while we try to wrap my mind around everything that's going on.
That being said- this Halloween/ Dia De Los Muertos Craft is from awhile back. We're keeping the skulls up until Thanksgiving... so I figure I could still post about them here too.

Clay Portrait Pendant Necklaces
My son started elementary school this week. *Sob* It's been such a happy, bittersweet couple of days. Recently we've been creating a lot of little trinkets with clay. (Have you seen our clay outer space necklace and clay dream catcher?) So I asked him to make some clay portrait pendant necklaces with me before school started. This way I can wear them and remember him while he's away.

Easy Origami Pikachu Tutorial
We've gotten hooked onto Pokemon Go. I kept holding off on the app, but once my husband showed my son.... he fell in love with the little critters, especially Pikachu. Pikachu was always my favorite too, so it was neat to share that with him. We recently made this super easy origami pikachu together. (Oh yes! Another paper folding craft!) It was such a fun kids craft that I'm sharing the step-by-step folding directions over here!

Family Watercolor Hand print Art
I'm always a bit nervous about transitions in life. And having a new baby has certainly been a humongous transition for our whole family. Diapers, giggles, crying, baby snuggles... we're still trying to find our new groove as a family of four. So I came up with this hand print art project to do with my eldest son. Despite all the crazy chaos that this stage of life brings, I still wanted to celebrate our family.

Cheap, Easy, and Creative Super Hero Party Ideas
A couple of weeks ago my son graduated from preschool. I didn't think I would get emotional... but I did. I felt kinda sad-happy realizing that he wasn't a baby anymore. Oh boy, I'm starting to feel a bit emotional right now. Yeesh... must.. toughen.. up.... Ahem. Anyway, back to introducing today's post...
Our preschool celebrated with a super hero themed graduation party. All the moms and dads came together to plan a really fun day for the kids. I was so impressed by everyone's creativity. I just had to share the super hero-themed activities and crafts here because I know a ton of you probably have super hero loving kids at home too.
So put on your super hero capes and get ready for some...

Modern Art with Kids- Lichtenstein Dot Art
Lately I've wanted to expose my preschooler to different types of art. But with a new baby at home, our creative and crafty times have been hard to come by. So I was really excited when my older son and I had the chance to make some art the other morning. We looked at Lichtenstein's Stepping Out, talked about what we saw in the artwork, and then made some of our own inspired modern pop art!
