just how big are you?

Lots of friends and family have been asking me this question lately.  I try to answer by telling them how much weight I've gained or that I now proudly wear maternity pants.  However, I'm not sure these answers ever really get the point across.

They say that an image is worth a thousand words.  So, here are two thousand words of description:

jean jacket- loehmann's

You know what they say...

"April showers bring May flowers"

But since it snowed here two days ago, perhaps the Michigan saying should be
"April snow showers bring May flowers."

Hubby and I are having a tough time believing that Spring is actually coming.  I'm longing for the days when I can shed my coat and expose my pale arms to a warm and bright sun.  Here are two of hubby's "Almost spring" outfits:

Nothing says spring like a nice jean jacket

Special delivery

Earlier this week I received a package of maternity clothes from Hubby's cousin.  They came at just the right time.  My pants were getting so tight that it hurt to button them up.  Hubby joked that baby was going to be born with a waistband imprinted onto its forehead.

The results of my impromptu fashion show.  Charlie gave the outfits two paws up.

Feeling paisley

Yesterday hubby was very sick.  I think he has the flu.  Nonetheless, he soldiered on and taught 3 classes.  Here's his outfit from flu-tastic Friday:

How fitting, the paisley pattern reminds me of floating viruses

Matchy matchy

Sometimes hubby and I pick out similar matching outfits. We never do it intentionally and usually one of us changes before we leave the house.  Today, the unspeakable happened again.  Short on time, we had to embrace our similarities.

New (sort-of) blazer

We went thrifting the other day and hubby scored this lovely warm blazer.  Here are two ways he styled it up:

Young republican

Young democrat

Shnazzy!

Hungry for head gear?

Look at what I found today.  Isn't it cute?
Now where can I find some Cinnabon ear muffs?

Holiday attire

Wondering what to wear for those special meals this holiday season?  Look no further, here are a couple of suggestions:

How about a bow tie for breakfast?

Perhaps a quirky tie for lunch?

Tweed for dinner?

Or velvet for Christmas cocktails?

Pill no more

I'd like to introduce you to a new friend.
Moo.

This little guy eats pilling on clothes.  So sweaters like this one
(Ew.  Don't you just want to pull those suckers off?)

are transformed back to their pre-pill state
Ah.  Smooth and soft

The results are amazing.
What will they think of next?

How you doin' good lookin?

I never leaf through a copy of National Geographic without realizing how lucky we are to live in a society where it is traditional to wear clothes.  ~Erma Bombeck

It's that time again.  Here are some highlights from hubby's wardrobe:

Thrifty professor

I love seeing my hubby dress up for work.  He's got a great eye for fashion and seamlessly mixes second-hand and new items.  Here are four of my favorite looks:

(A) Stripes Galore

(B) Classy Nerd

(C) Preppy Quirk

(D) Autumn Ready

Can you tell which items are second-hand?
